Hands-On "Manual" Adjustments

Spinal adjustments are offered using traditional chiropractic techniques following a thorough head-to-toe assessment. Hands-on spinal manipulation or adjustment involves generating enough force on the spine by pushing with the hands in one specific direction to move a vertebral joint. This type of adjustment may involve a popping sound when the joint repositions but not always.

With over 27 years of experience, you are in good hands you can trust when seeking your adjustment. Manual adjustments can be used in a hybrid treatment plan with instrument techniques.

Orthotics Through Gait Scan

Dr. Leering has been providing Customized Orthotic assessment and dispensing since 1997. Through use of the computerized The Gait Scan System under license by The Orthotic Group. Consider custom orthotics for foot, ankle, knee, hip, sacroiliac, or lower back problems.

Dr. Leering brings decades of experience to using a specialized computer program and force plate to measure your feet. The computer scans your feet sixty times per second to get the specific touch pattern of your unique foot. The computer will analyze the timing of pressure, compare it to other areas of your foot, and then compare it to where you should be. This data is then subjected to some fancy math so that that custom curve of the orthotic can be built for your foot.

Our skilled assessment successfully provides custom fit without adjustment in over 95% of cases.

Shockwave Therapy

Dr. Leering is well trained and very experienced in the use of Shockwave Therapy to provide you relief effectively and quickly for: Plantar Fasciitis/ Achilles Tendonitis, rotator cuff injury, Golfer’s/ Tennis Elbow, stress fractures, Osgood Schlatter Disease, Jumper Knee and other specific conditions.

Shockwave is not an electrical current. Rather, it is an impact wave that travels extremely quickly through your tissues. It does many things at once, very well, to harness your own body’s innate ability to heal itself.

The process can be summarized as: Shockwave causes cavitation (creation and popping of microscopic gas bubbles) in the tissue, imparts a deep vibration, increases circulation, physically breaks down adhesions and scar tissue, and evokes a complicated series of biochemical reactions all to wake up your body’s own healing mechanisms.

Activator Method

Using a a tool called an Activator, you can gain similar adjustment as manual techniques. It is useful for every body, and often considered specifically for those with aging bodies at risk for osteoporotic issues or for specific areas of the body such as the ribs, jaw for TMJ, shoulder, elbow, wrists, hip, knees and ankles.

The Activator tool used at Marine Drive Chiropractic is the first FDA registered and approved cordless electronic chiropractic adjustment instrument available. It benefits you by producing a mechanical thrust of pressure at the touch of a button; with four thrust settings which generate a gentle force wave to penetrate deep into the body with no discomfort.

The Activator is an essential tool in our hybrid approach to your head-to-toe care for injury, chronic pain, and prevention.
